I visited here earlier this year, I live in South Shields and fancied exploring Jesmond. What a beautiful pub this is. I was even in awe at the toilets! Definitely visiting again.
Top quality local boozer here. Working away the area and found this place courtesy of GM. reminded me of when pubs were pubs, pool tables, dart board, and a decent atmosphere. Friendly bar staff and decent grub.
Staff friendly and helpful, aptly named Ice Breaker Pale ale a treat. Clean and convenient for Metro.
Well over priced for a local bar but good quality, drinking here for 30+ years not recognisable from the local it once was when Peter managed it . NEW REFURB. Not a clue why breweries keep doing this, not impressed at all the charm it had has been ripped out now it's same old same old did not try beer as they had no crisps, opening a bar without snacks available ????
I had a very enjoyable Sunday roast here - the servings were generous, and the food has great flavor. Roast potatoes were really excellent, I'd recommend getting an extra serving on the side. Ambience was good, and the service was friendly. There was a 45 min wait for food, but it was busy at the time. A good spot to watch the sports.
